Case Study: The Cavendish Hotel London

Trialled in The Cavendish Hotel London, Kelda's Air-Powered™ and BubbleSpa® showers offered water savings against their existing benchmark showers.

About The CavendishNestled in the heart of Mayfair, The Cavendish Hotel stands as the tallest building in the vicinity, offering guests unprecedented views of the London skyline from their 230 deluxe rooms. The hotel is frequented by those who enjoy the capital’s famous West End theatres, world class art galleries, restaurants and iconic landmarks, offering guests beautifully appointed rooms with contemporary décor to relax and unwind in.Project SummaryKelda were invited to trial both Air-Powered™ and BubbleSpa® technologies in The Cavendish Hotel to demonstrate its water, energy and financial saving potential, without compromising guest experience.ProcessKelda’s Air-Powered™ Deluxe Shower Panel and BubbleSpa® shower were installed in selected rooms, and fitted with data loggers to measure water consumption for a period of 87 days. During this time data loggers were fitted to existing showers to provide a benchmark for savings. Results (Air-Powered™Deluxe Shower Panel)  

• A Kelda Air-Powered™ Deluxe Shower Panel shower uses 7,931 m3 (normalised) less water per year than the existing benchmark showers. This is a 71% reduction in the amount of water used which results in £19,751 savings in the annual water bill at The Cavendish Hotel. 
• A Kelda shower uses 173,991 less kWh of energy per year than their current shower. This is a 71% reduction in the amount of energy used which results in £15,411 savings in the annual energy bill at The Cavendish Hotel.
• Based on the statements above, a Kelda Air-Powered shower can save The Cavendish Hotel around £35,000 in their annual water and energy bills.

Results (BubbleSpa® shower)  

• A Kelda BubbleSpa® shower shower uses 5,290 m3 (normalised) less water per year than the existing benchmark showers. This is a 47% reduction in the amount of water used which results in £13,176 savings in the annual water bill. 
• A Kelda shower uses 125,854 less kWh of energy per year than their current shower. This is a 47% reduction in the amount of energy used which results in £11,147 savings in the annual energy bill.
• Based on the statements above, a Kelda BubbleSpa® shower can save The Cavendish Hotel around £24,000 in their annual water and energy bills.
