Kelda Showers Featured in PHAM News

Originating in 1963, the PHAM magazine is a highly respected title. Their October issue has highlighted the water and energy saving potential of our Air-Powered™ showers.

Specifically citing the installation of our Deluxe Shower Panel with eHandsets in Cala’s Langley Court development in Beckenham, the feature notes that our products are verified by Energy Saving Trust as to their energy saving benefits.

Kelda’s Air-Powered™ showers result in significant savings in water, energy, carbon emissions and financial costs.

Compared to conventional mixer showers, a Kelda shower uses 55% less water and energy. This results in financial savings of £285 and £180 off annual energy and water bills respectively.

A single Air-Powered™ shower can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 540kg a year.

On average, replacing a conventional mixer shower with a Kelda Air-Powered™ can save a family of 4 approximately £465 a year.

Air-Powered™ Explained

Conventional aerating showers draw air from the atmosphere into the water through a tiny opening in the shower head by restricting flow using the Venturi principle.

There is no discernible increase in force or performance with this method, which is a cheap solution for decreasing the mass flow of water and aerating it to alter the ‘feel’ of the shower.

In contrast, Kelda’s patented Air-Powered™ showers use the principles of fuel injection technology. Each shower features an intelligent microprocessor and powerful digital fan which controls the delivery of water and air to the showerhead. Within the showerhead, water is injected into a high-velocity air stream where it is broken up into 100s of droplets that are 2.5X the size of a standard shower.

Shower technology

Sustainable Showering

Kelda represents the future of sustainable showering. With our advanced Air-Powered™ technology injecting water into air, it marks the beginning of a new era: one of unrivalled experience, high-efficiency and responsible clean-technology.

Kelda showers atomise water into 100s of MACRO droplets that are significantly bigger than a standard shower, yielding more momentum when landing on a user’s body – approximately 15X more impact. This results in a shower sensation of pressure without the excess volume of water compared to a standard shower.

Kelda combines science, technology and design to create an immersive shower experience that people can enjoy responsibly, in an affordable and efficient way.
